The Capacity2Transform (C2T) project is an ambitious capacity-building initiative addressing the skill gaps in Cultural and Creative Industries (CCIs) and Sustainable Tourism Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (ST_SMEs) within Central Europe. This project emerges in response to the twin challenges of digital and green (DG) transition and the related job insecurity exacerbated by COVID-19, along with a talent scarcity in the targeted industry sectors.
Here’s an overview of what the project entails:
The Challenge: C2T tackles the pressing need for upskilling in CCIs and ST_SMEs to enable their active participation in the DG transition. The project acknowledges the difficulty these sectors face in connecting with DG transition actions due to a lack of technical and management skills and access to relevant business structures.
Objective and Innovation: The core objective is to foster a business environment conducive to capacity building, specifically targeting groups and sectors currently excluded from the development and delivery processes of sustainable digital and green products/solutions. What sets C2T apart is its focus on creating a supportive ecosystem that facilitates the integration of digital and green initiatives with cultural and creative innovation.
Outputs and Beneficiaries: The project aims to establish a transnational capacity-building program, develop long-term support networks, and create a framework for implementation and transferability. It is expected to enhance the understanding of synergies that come from expanding DG actions to include cultural and creative aspects. Over 1,000 individuals from the target group will be upskilled, and the project will engage more than 200 SMEs across the Central Europe region. The result will be the development of 90 Digital-Green-Creative (DGC) action concepts and the support of 9 transformative DGC actions.
Implementation Approach and Transnational Cooperation: C2T underlines the necessity of transnational cooperation (TNC) for systematic support in strengthening skills and capacities. The project targets all nine countries of the Central Europe region, linking business support organizations, educational and research institutions, innovation agencies, thematic clusters, and local and regional government representatives.
Overall, Capacity2Transform is poised to make significant strides in bridging the skill gap in key sectors, facilitating a more inclusive and comprehensive approach to the digital and green transitions in Central Europe. Follow us & stay tuned for more!
